Safety

1. Supervision of Children at an Outdoor Wedding

We love welcoming families to our venue, and children often bring an extra spark of joy to weddings. However, due to the natural features of our property, it’s crucial that children under the age of 12 are supervised at all times. Parents or guardians must keep a close eye on their little ones, especially near the covered bridge and river, where the terrain can be challenging and potentially hazardous. We strongly recommend using a professional childcare service to keep an eye on the children while their parents are celebrating.

2. Event Set-Up and Decorations

To preserve the natural beauty at Maidenwood, we have specific guidelines regarding event set-up and decorations. All decorations must be approved by our team in advance. We ask that you avoid using any items that could damage the property or pose safety risks, such as heavy objects that could tip over. Additionally, any installation of tents or large structures should be done under professional supervision.

3. Respect for Nature at an Outdoor Wedding Venue

Our venue is home to a variety of local wildlife, and we encourage all guests to respect the natural environment. Feeding or disturbing animals is not permitted. Additionally, please dispose of all trash and recycling in the designated bins to help us keep the property clean and safe for everyone.

4. Emergency Preparedness

While we do everything in our power to ensure a smooth and safe event, it’s important to be prepared for the unexpected. We have a first aid kit available on-site and our staff is trained to handle basic emergencies.

5. Restricted Areas

Certain areas of the property may be restricted for safety or preservation reasons. All of the red buildings on the property, with the exception of the covered bridge, are off-limits to guests. Entering restricted areas can be dangerous and is strictly prohibited.

6. Event Timing and Lighting

If your event extends into the evening, please be mindful of the lighting around the venue. While we provide ample lighting in key areas, some parts of the property may be darker, especially near the river. We recommend bringing additional lighting or lanterns for outdoor areas and ensuring that all walkways are well-lit to prevent accidents.

7. Communication with Our Team

Our team is here to help make the day as smooth and enjoyable as possible. If you have any questions about the rules or need assistance with anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to work with you to accommodate special requests as long as they align with our safety and preservation policies. Though we welcome service animals, pets and emotional support animals need to be left at home.
